The Microair MIC-40 flexible boom microphone is perfect for all types of gliders and sailplanes. It features an electret microphone insert and mic muff on one end and a mounting bracket on the other to permit mounting on a flat surface such as the cockpit side wall. The boom is flexible yet rigid enough that it can be positioned as required and will not droop. We have learnt by experience that the boom needed to be stiff at the mount but flexible in the centre so that it can be positioned at the ideal location. The boom is 40cm long.
